NEXT LEVEL ENGINEERING
Hewn from a single 3.5lb US-sourced brass slab, the V1 block is machined using hyper-accurate and incredibly expensive CNC machines designed for the aerospace industry. To cut our world’s thinnest CNCed copper fins, we created our own custom diamond CNC bits and proprietary methods that far exceed anything else used in PC cooling or other industries. For finishes, we use only the highest end mil-spec nickel plating. Optimus believes this level of detail and precision is the only way to achieve next-level performance.

BREAKTHROUGH FIN DESIGN: THE FINEST FINS EVER CREATED
Over two years of development went into creating Optimus’s truly next-level patent-pending fin technology. Using a CNC process never used in PC cooling, Optimus is able to achieve the world’s thinnest CNCed fins at only 0.127mm thick. Additionally, Optimus micro channels at also the world’s thinnest 0.1016mm. More surface area means more cooling. And because we use only CNC -- not skived -- fin manufacturing, our fins are measurably accurate and resistant to bending or breaking.
MIL-SPEC CERTIFIED NICKEL
That’s right, the Optimus V1 nickel block is mil-spec and aerospace-certified. This means Optimus’s nickel finish doesn’t just look great but is guaranteed free from flaking. Cheaper electrolytic nickel and chrome are prone to flaking, as many builders are aware. To overcome this issue, Optimus’s mil-spec nickel process is able to withstand the harshest liquids including acids, corrosive coolants and, yes, even exotic PC liquids.
For all Optimus nickel products, we exclusively use the highest-end phosphorus nickel process rather than the inferior electrolytic nickel or chrome. Optimus blocks meet Aerospace Material Specification (AMS 2404), Department of Defence (Mil-C 25074), and International ASTM (ASTM-B733).
WORLD’S ONLY DIAMOND-FINISHED COLD PLATE
All other CPU blocks are polished after being CNCed. Unfortunately, polishing is not an accurate process and, while results may look good to the human eye, imperfections on the surface mean lower contact area and performance. The only way to truly guarantee 0.0018mm (0.00002”) level of accuracy is to CNC the cold plate perfectly with diamond bits. Optimus created proprietary diamond tooling that allows the cold plates to come off the CNC perfect without the need for polishing. So, yes, the ultra mirror effect is done by a diamond with zero buffering after the fact. This may not be visible to the human eye, but to people who appreciate precision and performance, the Optimus diamond cold plate is a major advancement.
CNC, NOT SKIVED, FIN MANUFACTURING
In AIOs and cheaper thin fin designs, thin fins are created using the “skiving” process. But skived fins are brittle and hardly accurate. Optimus blocks are 100% CNCed fins. Simply look at the fins on a block -- if the corners of the fins are exposed, they’re skived and prone to bending and collapsing during assembly and long term usage. Only Optimus CNC micro fins are able to stay truly uniform and offer peak performance for the life of the block. Optimus fins are the world’s first CNCed thin fin design.
OPTIMIZED FOR MODERN PUMPS
Many blocks are advertised as featuring “low restriction for weaker pumps” which is good for users with weaker pumps. But if aspiring for ultimate performance, low restriction designs with thick fins simply can’t offer the heat dissipation of mico-fin designs like Optimus. Optimus blocks are engineered for the latest and most popular D5 and DDC pumps models.
US-SOURCED ULTRA-PREMIUM MATERIALS
Only the finest brass, copper and nickel is used for the Optimus block. Brass is the ideal material for incredibly strong monolithic construction. Mil-spec nickel provides a nearly indestructible silvery finish. For the cold plate, we use the purest copper available. Many cheap (and even not cheap) blocks use alloys or impure copper and brass to save a few dollars. While the final product may look attractive, the block will offer less performance and reliability over time.
Optimus EPDM O-Rings are free from plasticizer, an issue that can be found in cheaper o-rings used in other blocks. If you have wondered where gunk originates in a loop, look to the cheap o-rings and inferior electrolytic nickel used in other products.
BANISHING GALVANIC CORROSION
Optimus takes galvanic corrosion seriously. Fighting corrosion with other company’s products was a major reason Optimus was started in the first place. To eliminate corrosion, Optimus uses only single-metal tooling. Meaning, a tool used for our copper cold plates will never be used for aluminum. While this detail may seem small, companies that mix metals in the same CNC process will ultimately be melting elements from one metal into the other. The effect may not be visible directly on the block, only when galvanic corrosion begins in the loop does the dedication to clean metal tooling really become obvious.
Optimus offers a lifetime warranty on all products rather than the one or two year warranties traditional in the industry. This means any manufacturer defects, nickel or corrosion are covered for the life of the block. While the Optimus block will be the highest end product in your system, Optimus cannot warranty other company’s blocks, radiators or products that may cause overall system problems.
